Hengshuo Zhang received his BSc. and MSc. in physics from Huaqiao university and Tongji university (China), where he studied two-dimensional van der Waals ferromagnets and spin-orbit torque effects in defective transition metal dichalcogenides. In October 2025, he began his PhD in the framework of a collaboration between the Gnm3 Group at UAB and the SPINMAD Group at ICMAB-CSIC, as a jointly co-supervised international fellow. His research focuses on tuning the orbital Hall effect using voltage-driven ion motion (magneto-ionics) for energy-efficient spintronic applications.
