Luis Martínez obtained his B.Sc. in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in 2023 and his M. Sc. in 2024, both at UAB. In his B. Sc. Thesis, he studied 2D Vaan der Waals materials at ICN2. During his M. Sc. Thesis at ICMAB, he was introduced to the world of spintronics. He studied the controlled generation of single skyrmions by magnetic stray fields on ferrimagnetic iron garnets. His PhD at GNM3, starting on July 2024, is funded by the European project “REMINDS” and his work focuses on using magneto-ionics as a strategy to protect data, based on the mutual exchange interactions between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic materials.
