Simone Privitera-Uno

PhD student

Simone Privitera-Uno is currently a Doctoral Researcher at UAB cofunded by DOCFAM+ Marie SkÅ‚odowska-Curie Action (MSCA). His PhD Fellow focuses on magneto-ionic effects in antiferromagnetic CoNiO.  As part of his PhD, Simone is developing a new experimental setup merging magneto-electrical measurements with nanocalorimetry. Previously Simone worked on broad hands-on research activities: (i) one year internship program at NTT Research, Inc. in Tokyo at RIKEN where he performed photoluminescence in cryogenic temperature of polaritons condensate and simulations in tight-binding framework of photonic Landau levels, and (ii) six-months internship at KAUST in Saudi Arabia where he was involved in the nanofabrication processes of metasurfaces for high efficient flat-optics. He got the BSc. in Physics with an experimental thesis on optical characterization of lead halide perovskites and in 2021 the MSc. in Physics of Complex Systems and Big Data with a final project on metasurfaces-based optical neural networks at Tor Vergata University of Rome.
