Irena Spasojević obtained her bachelor’s degree in Physical Chemistry from the University of Belgrade (2016) and her master’s degree in Nanoscience, Materials and Processes from the University Rovira i Virgili (2017). She received her Ph.D. degree in Materials Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2022. During her Ph.D. work at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, she investigated the mutual interplay between ferroelectric and surface chemical properties in barium titanate thin films. Piezoresponse Force Microscopy (PFM), Ambient Pressure X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (AP-XPS) in lab-based and large-scale synchrotron facilities, Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) for ferroelectric thin film preparation and chemical functionalization of ferroelectric surfaces are among her areas of expertise. Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher in the framework of the Advanced Grant ERC project ¨REMINDS¨, investigating coupling between ferromagnetic (FM) and antiferromagnetic (AFM)/ferroelectric (FE) materials, particularly domain imprinting between FM and AFM/FE phases, as well as the invisibility of magnetic data in innovative anti-hacking and anti-counterfeiting technologies.
