Detailed CV

Dr. Eva Pellicer is an Associate Professor at the Physics Department of UAB since December 2018, after completing a 5-year Ramon y Cajal programme. She got the PhD in Chemistry (Excellent with Honours) in 2005 from the Universitat de Barcelona (UB) in the field of the electrodeposition of cobalt-based magnetic layers for microelectromechanical (MEMS) applications. Before joining the UAB she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Electronics Department at UB (2005-2006) and at the Institut Català de Nanotecnologia (2007-2009). Dr. Pellicer has performed postdoctoral research stays at Bioforsk (Norway) and ETH-Zürich (Switzerland).

She has authored or co-authored over 190 articles, which have received more than 3500 citations excluding self-citations (h = 35). Many of these articles have been published in top-ranked materials science journals like ACS Nano, Advanced Science, Advanced Functional Materials, Small, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Journal of Materials Chemistry, Nanoscale , etc. and have been highlighted in the cover page of their respective issues.

She was awarded the Westinghouse Prize in 2005 from the Institute of Metal Finishing (UK), the Spanish L’Oreál-Unesco ‘For Women in Science’ (2014) and the L’Oreál-Unesco ‘International Rising Talents’ (2015), among others. She was the coordinator of the Tempus European project "Development of Sustainable Interrelations between Education, Research and Innovation at WBC Universities in Nanotechnologies and Advanced Materials where Innovation Means Business". She also served as the Training Manager of the ITN SELECTA (project no. 642642) and is currently the PI of the Spanish partner of the ITN mCBEEs (project no. 764977). She has also been the vice-chair of the Cost Action MP1407 ‘e-minds’ within the period 2015-2019. Dr. Pellicer has supervised nine PhD Theses (three of them have received the PhD extraordinary award from the PhD programme in Materials Science of UAB) and is currently supervising three PhD students.

In addition, she serves as Editorial Board member of Nanomaterials (MDPI), Coatings (MDPI) and 3D Research (Springer), has co-edited several special issues for MDPI and Wiley and several books in Springer (e.g. “Commercialization of Nanotechnologies—A Case Study Approach”, “Advances in Applications of Industrial Biomaterials”, etc.), and co-organized symposiums in on-site international meetings (e.g. E-MRS Spring Meeting) and e-conferences (e.g. IOCN 2018 1st International Online Conference on Nanomaterials).
