Post-doctoral Researcher

Dr. Miguel Guerrero is currently a post-doctoral researcher at UAB. He got his PhD in Chemistry from the Science and Technology of Materials program in June 2010 from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) under the supervision of Dr. Josep Ros and Dr. Josefina Pons. After graduation, he did his postdoctoral research at the Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination (LCC; CNRS), in Toulouse, France (2010-2012). He was focused on the design and development of a new generation of multifunctional metal catalysts by the combination of the best features of supramolecular chemistry and nanotechnology. Later, he joined the Physics Department at UAB where he worked on the synthesis of 3D hierarchically porous photoluminescent films by electrochemical means, among other topics. So far he has authored or co-authored over 45 articles and assisted both at national and international congresses. His current research interests include the design and organic synthesis of hybrid ligands for their use in supramolecular chemistry,  stabilization of metal/metal oxide nanoparticles by organometallic approach and their deposition in different kind of supports (SiO2, TiO2, etc), and the study of the catalytic activity of these nanocomposites in hydrogenation, hydroformylation and C-C coupling reactions. He is also involved in teaching activities in the Physics, Chemistry and Nanoscience & Nanotechnology degrees and in official master programs at UAB.
