Emeritus Professor



Prof. Maria D. Baró is the Head of Física dels Materials II Unit, and Professor of Applied Physics of the Department of Physics, UAB, Spain. Her current research activity is focused on the study of basic properties of nanostructured functional materials. She has experience acting as co-ordinator or partner group leader in European, national and regional projects. She participates in advanced level training courses, has supervised 7 PhD students and welcomes foreigner visitors for training. She has published more than 330 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and edited four books (about 7800 citations, h = 40). She was awarded the Narcís Monturiol Medal for the scientific and technological merit by the Generalitat of Catalonia in 2004. She is member of different national and international scientific associations, steering committees and editorial broads.
